HandPans, if you've not seen or heard of them before, are a fairly new instrument. Invented in Switzerland in 2000, they’re a relative of the Steel Pan and are, as the name implies, designed to be played by hand.

Judith and Colin connected in late 2012 and they've been playing together ever since. Inspired and delighted by an absolute passion for the beauty and resonance of the “singing steel,” Colin and Judith are The Dimples.

When starlings flock together, wheeling and darting through the sky in tight, fluid formations, it's called a murmuration. Using basic melodic structures as framework for improvisation, The Dimples create murmurations of harmony and rhythm.
